SSL stands for “Secure Sockets Layer. It is a security measure that allows for a secure link between the server and we browser. SSL protects internet connections by preventing hackers from reading or altering data sent between two computers. When the URL (domain address of a website) in the address bar has a padlock icon next to it, SSL is being used to secure that particular website and the domain address will start with https.
